Clayton Goldberg, Office Administrator e-mail Clayton Goldberg’s intention in this work, as well as in life, is to bring about imagination, joy, and connection. Clayton grew up in a theatre environment, acting on stage and making people laugh. These passions led to a major in Theatre Arts at the University of North Texas, and a new outlook upon the art scene. Another door was opened and he began writing poems, songs, and short stories which, as of today, have been published in local newsletters and contest books. Clayton is in recovery, and is an active Alumnus of Extended Aftercare. He writes and edits the community newsletter, “The Ragpicker”, and is a member of the Mankind Project in Houston. Clayton is currently the Office Administrator at Extended Aftercare, Inc. In addition to his duties as frontline man for EAI, he also holds a part-time position at Memorial Hermann The PARc, serving as a technician in the Adolescent Department of drug and alcohol abuse. Apart from continuing to establish himself in the writing world, Clayton’s top goal is maintaining his sobriety. “EAI taught me to grow up and own the responsibility that is my life. Now I have the privilege of helping the men who come through here to do the same.” |

Julie Boon
Julie Boon was born in Germany, but has spent most of her life in Texas. She had a successful career for 15 years in the interior design and retail furniture industry with her family’s store, Harris Furniture Studio, located in the West University area for almost 60 years. Julie brings the unique experience of ownership and management of a successful family business to the EAI environment.
Though Julie is a recent addition to our Executive Team, she has claim to having the longest history at EAI – back to the time before EAI existed. Her journey in recovery began in 1987 when she was in treatment with EAI’s founder, Darrel Salvaggio. Her first “real” job was working at Sal’s Auto Sales – the used car lot owned by Darrel and Tony Salvaggio. A few years later – EAI came to life at this same location, and thrived over the years. Julie stayed involved at EAI and was fortunate enough to meet her husband Steve at an EAI event. The years passed, and when the opportunity to purchase EAI presented itself in 2005 – it was an easy decision and choice for her to make.
“I have spent half of my life involved in recovery and at EAI in one way or another. It is part of my past and my future, and has defined the woman I am in many ways. Of course I have a sentimental attachment, and I know how many families have been helped and lives that have been saved here–that’s why I have chosen to stay after all of these years.”
Julie serves as Chief Financial Officer at EAI, and is responsible for management of the budgets, accounting and financial integrity of the company, as well as supervision of much of the support staff. She also is a proud member of the Woman Within community, and serves on their Board of Directors. She is passionate about sewing, cooking, gardening, fishing and spending time in the outdoors. |
